Really poignant. We sure do live in a cycling world, just the same as our dealings with our fellow man, except we with man, we don't seem to learn.

I think it's beautiful too, in the way that it makes you feel remote and pleasantly insignificant. A bit like when you look at the stars.

Well done.

🎨 Jed, you've really captured all the emotion and beauty of Kauai ! I can only imagine all the energy
and days with your brush in hand.

So don't forget to book that Hawaiian vacation before it's too late!

That's the Big island and Hilo town. There's what I think is the destruction of Kalapana. Waianuenue falls is also beautifully rendered, as are the mesic fern forests of Moku Nui. Beautiful, Jed!

Very nice, but isn't it missing the coral atoll stage around the +20M year sequence?

Jed said...

Thanks! And yeah, there's lots I didn't cover: atolls, the later seamount phase, and the eventual death of the reef as the Pacific plate moves north. Perhaps there should be a part two…

An easter egg with Maui fishing the isles from the sea would be fun :)

Gorgeous, enchanting, harrowing, reminiscent, intertwined, disrupted, repaired, renewal, symbiosis
